The HTI Group, a global leader in innovative and sustainable technologies for industries such as winter sports, mobility and renewable energy, faced the challenge of modernizing its outdated intranet. The existing system no longer met the needs of a modern, globally operating company, leading to slow information exchange and low user adoption.

Objectives
HTI Group’s old intranet was outdated, difficult to use, and lacked the security and flexibility needed for collaboration across international locations. The key objectives for the new intranet included:

Project Execution & Collaboration
The project was structured into multiple phases, from an initial pre-project phase to implementation and content creation. Two teams – a core team and an extended project team with more than 50 international members – worked closely together. Weekly meetings and regular updates ensured transparent communication and quick problem-solving.
Challenges & Solutions
A major organizational challenge was coordinating a global team across different time zones and company cultures. From a technical perspective, an authorization framework needed to be implemented to ensure worldwide intranet accessibility while protecting sensitive data. Additionally, migrating and updating old content, as well as training content editors, were challenging tasks. Editorial processes also had to be adjusted to make the new workflows clear and accessible for employees.
